School Staff Response to Active Shooter
Gunsite is offering this class specifically for school staff members, of any classification, that are armed or possibly armed in the future, and are assigned to respond to an active shooter incident within their educational institution.
Topics to be covered:
- Comprehensive training with the handgun.
- Working in a crowded, chaotic environment.
- Linking up with First Responders.
- Target identification.
- Management of evolving events.
- Establishing strong points.
- Emergency medical procedures.
- Single person tactics.
- Force-on-force scenarios.
This 7-day format will allow us to do away with our usually established firearms training prerequisites, as the first two days will consist of comprehensive training with the handgun.
Prerequisites: Employed member of an educational institution, regardless of classification, that is armed or will possibly be armed in the future, and are assigned to respond to an active shooter incident. This includes public, private, and religious educational institutions of all levels.
This class has a difficultly level of moderate. Students should be capable of getting into and out of kneeling, sitting and prone positions numerous times each day.
