
Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act recertification training
Retired officers must qualify with the type of firearm (semi-auto / revolver) they wish to carry and pass a shooting evaluation. The applicant must qualify through an AZPOST certified instructor. The applicant must qualify shooting the AZPOST course of fire, which consists of 50 rounds from 25, 15, 7, and 3 yards with a passing score. If the passing score is not met, the applicant will be given a second chance to qualify. If the applicant fails twice, they will not be qualified and must reschedule for a future qualification date.
