If you’ve ever wondered why Jeff and Janelle Cooper picked the land in Paulden to establish their American Pistol Institute, today known as Gunsite Academy the month of August 2013 makes it an obvious choice. The monsoon season in Northern Arizona this year produced beautiful green foliage, cool mornings and perfect afternoons. The antelope are hanging out at the S curve on Gunsite road the jack rabbits are thick, and the road runners are everywhere. It has been great weather for training.
The Vet’s carbine class was a huge success. Our friends at Black Hills ammunition contributed 50,000 rounds of 223 to this annual event, and we thank them enormously.
Classes in September are largely filled. We have openings in the 499 Advanced Pistol class, the Indiana Three Day Pistol 150 class and a few openings in the 250 Pistol class beginning on September 30th.
If you haven’t signed up for GAS it may be too late by the time you get this newsletter. For those who have signed up, this GAS match is going to be amazing. Katie took her 250 Pistol and 223 Carbine class in the spring and is one of the 2nd Amendment’s strongest supporters.
October has plenty of training opportunities during one of the best weather months of the year!

Long Range Rifle will teach the skills you’ll need to achieve hits out to 1,000 yards!
Extreme Long Range Rifle will teach how to use your ballistic software to make hits at an amazing 2,000 yards or greater!
There are still a few slots left in the mid October 250 class. This is one of the best times of year in the high desert.
Rounding out the training opportunities in October are the 260 shotgun and the Shotgun Advanced Tactical Problems (SATP). These classes have been extremely popular all year long and each one has filled to capacity. Don’t miss out on the last chance of 2013 to train on one of the all time greatest defensive weapons!
