This past month was the busiest August in Gunsite history. We had a full 250 class here and a full 250 class in Tennessee, as well as a Vets Carbine class. Yamaha brought their Media event complete with gun writers and off road media to showcase their new Tactical ATVs. Crimson Trace was also here in August filming their 2013 promotional DVD.
A very special class was held in August for Wounded Veterans. Many thanks to our Gunsite Instructors for volunteering their time, to Sig Arms for providing the carbine and pistols, Blackhills the ammunition, SureFire the lights, EOTech for optics, and Mil-Tac to name a few. These warriors are hardcore and a true pleasure to be around. They are all excellent shots! Thank you to Rogue Corps for bringing Gunsite such a great event. If you would like to see some of the highlights from the Gunsite events visit our Gunsite Academy facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/GunsiteAcademy where hundreds of pictures are posted. Be sure to visit Rogue Corps facebook page as well and show them your support.
By the time you receive this email our two September 250 classes will be in full swing with over 40 students. If you are in the Wisconsin (September 17-19) or Indiana ((September 21-23) areas, we have 3 day 150 pistol classes in both of those locations. Here at the Gunsite Ranch there are still openings in the 499 Advanced Pistol September 24-28, the 223 Carbine class September 10-14. Many of these classes are almost full with only a few openings. Contact Karen for availability.
Everyone knows what October brings, not only beautiful weather but our annual Gunsite Alumni Shoot, ‘A social event occasionally interrupted by gunfire!!! The match which is sponsored by Blade-Tech, Galco, Crimson Trace, Black Hills Ammunition and many more manufacturers, has only a few remaining open slots. Call Karen to check for availability.
This year Simunitions will be set up for a force on force scenario on Friday, October 5th, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. This is open to all registered GAS attendees. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to experience a “real life scenario” like the ones we offer in all our intermediate and advanced courses.
The 250 and 350 classes the week of GAS are currently full. If you would like to be added to our waiting list call Karen and she will enter your name. There are still openings in our AK47 Operator Course. This is the most prevalent weapon system in the entire world! If you do not have an AK, we will provide one for you at no cost. Register before Sept. 15th and receive a 20% discount.
The week after GAS offers some unique opportunity for classes that are not scheduled often. The Close Quarter Pistol class is full but we are starting a wait list. Battle Rifle for all .30 cal platform users is nearly full with only a couple slots left. Carbine Tactical Problems is our highest level carbine class. You will not see this on the schedule again before 2014 so don’t miss out.
We have room for one more team in our Team Tactics for Two class October 15-19. This class takes shooting, moving and communicating with your spouse or partner to a higher level multiplying your capabilities to solve problems with far more security than a single person can alone. Ask yourself what you would do in a home invasion or carjacking situation. The course includes Force-on-Force exercises with Simunitions, and live fire in our Simulators. This is the last date for this course in 2012.
