Gunsite celebrated Labor Day as we do annually – Hosting classes! Our staff takes the holiday on another day of their choice (OK, many of them during Hunting Season) and our students don’t take an extra vacation day to visit Gunsite.
GAS Match planning is hot and heavy with the support of our industry partners such as True Shot, HAWG Holsters, Mossberg, Colt, and many more. Meals have been “tested” by staff and approved . . .We have 281 registered as of today and we must stop at 300. If you haven’t registered, better get on it! Believe it or not, we are already planning for the 50th Anniversary GAS in 2026! May be time to make reservations for what we expect to be a two-day event!
The GAS Auction will have a couple of the late John Gannaway’s rifles. (There will be a reserve bid.) As always, some fun Gunsite memorabilia that you can only find here at Gunsite will be for sale in the Auction and the Silent Auction. (100% of the auction proceeds go to the Jeff Cooper Legacy Foundation.)
The Vets Classes were another grand time. Nearly 100 veterans from the Global War on Terror experienced their 250 or 223 classes, taught by our volunteering Gunsite staff and lunches paid for by a generous donor. Old friendships were renewed, and new friendships were forged. Ammunition (thanks to generous Gunsite Family) helped support some Vets. Already planning for Vets Classes in 2025.
We officially opened the new Pro Shop doors about two weeks ago. It is a thing of beauty. So much great gear, a dressing room to try on Gunsite shirts and pants and even indoor plumping.
The old Pro Shop is well underway to transform back to classroom, the original Office/Pro Shop may be demolished by GAS Match. The new bathroom gets closer and closer to being completed . . .It is a whirlwind of activity here.
September really ramps up with 250, 223 and Tactical Concealed Carry Pistol this week followed by Carbine Range Day, Armed Women of America Instructor Development Class this weekend. Next week is the Jim Wilson/Mossberg Team Tactics for Two Class, Yavapai County Sheriff SWAT training again, a private industry team building 150 Pistol, and Night Vision – Pistol/Carbine 2 followed by the ever-popular two-day Pistol Range Day. (PRD2 is an excellent tune up for GAS!) Mid-September is the 556 Advanced Carbine, Close Quarters Pistol, Xtreme Long Range Rifle, a private 250 Pistol Class, a private 270 Rifle Class, Shotgun Range Day, Best Defense filming, 250 Pistol with Optics, Ruger for a staff in-service, the AZ Sheriff’s Association for a private event and another tutorial for Pistol Optics. Then we have the week preceding GAS with our fun private class with The Knuckleheads and a double 250 and double 350 Pistol Class. No time to rest this month!
Seeing the private classes mentioned above, Gunsite can tailor a special class for you, you and your friends and family or your team. There is no better team building than an intimate class to learn life-saving skills.
We are so grateful to all the Gunsite Family for the faith they continue to put in Gunsite to provide the training to keep themselves and their loved ones safe. All our growth would not be possible without your support.
The Gunsite staff looks forward to seeing you in class, at GAS or simply out and about. Remember to fly the Raven on your bumper, shirt, hat, tattoo or flag.
When are you coming (back) to Gunsite!
