
Nashville Instructor Development – Pistol Mounted Optics
Pistol Mounted Optics (PMO) aren’t the future; they are now and they are here and in the last decade technology has enhanced the reliability and durability of the Handgun mounted optic for duty and self-defense use.
This instructor development course focuses on teaching the instructor how to teach optics within the Modern Technique. The course material takes legal and human factors into consideration while addressing what does and doesn’t change with the PMO. Teaching new students on the Pistol Mounted Optic presents unique problems for students learning to acquire the red dot with the dominant and non-dominant hand and while firing multiple shots. Objective based training techniques will be utilized to get maximum performance from the students while using a PMO.
Topics to be covered will be presenting the optic, changing visual attention and focus, blocked and broken optics.
