Ballistic Response Against Violent Encounters – Carbine
BRAVE Carbine is the next addition to the BRAVE curriculum. In BRAVE Carbine, we’ll operate in teams of 2 to eight right from the start of the class! Like other BRAVE classes, we’ll begin with a day of carbine skill spin up to knock off the rust and add new course specific skills. After that, we’ll move to home defense, hostage rescue, dismounted reaction to contact, reaction to mass attacks, mounted operations (meaning….working in and around vehicles) and finally, we’ll head out to the Veil and Monster and put our newly developed skills to the test in live fire scenarios! Like other BRAVE classes, BRAVE Carbine is a “Train the Trainer” level class.
Prerequisites for BRAVE Carbine is 223 (250, BRAVE & BRAVE 2 Suggested).

To attend this class, students should be able to walk or run a quarter mile without stopping, assume and recover from a Speed Kneeling position ten times in a row without stopping, and assume and recover from a prone position five times in a row without stopping while in their loaded chest rig and war belt. To test yourself, put on your gear and perform the above personal test prior to class to test your fitness level. This class involves multiple assumptions of various positions and movement around ranges during training exercises. A moderate personal fitness level is required for success. Contact the instructors or the Gunsite office if you have questions. DON’T LET THIS REQUIREMENT SCARE YOU! IF YOU CAN PERFORM THE ABOVE FUNCTIONS, YOU’LL HAVE NO TROUBLE WITH CLASS ACTIVITIES!
