Gunsite offers our somber thanks and utmost respect to those who served and offered the supreme sacrifice so that we may continue to live in the greatest country in the world.
A few weeks ago, a young woman in our 250 Pistol Class came to me on Tuesday or Wednesday commenting that when she said the Pledge of Allegiance on Monday morning it was a very emotional experience. She elaborated that it was the second time she had offered it publicly. The first being at her US citizenship ceremony. What a wonderful thing, especially immediately prior to her exercising her God given right to protect herself guaranteed by our United States Constitution.
As President Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction — we didn’t pass it onto our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on to them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children, and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
Where has May gone? It seems like it was May Day only yesterday. We are completing our 5th 250 Pistol Class today for May. So many new gun owners are recognizing that they do need training. (Remember that Jeff Cooper said that owning a piano does not make you a pianist.) Student numbers are at record enrollments again this year. We cannot stress enough to get enrolled soonest so you can be sure to get the class time you wish.
Ammunition continues to be available thanks to our friends and industry partners at DoubleTap and now Vista (Remington, Federal and CCI). We continue to work to keep the pricing for ammo packages as reasonable as we can.

They will be voting in the next few days and the current person offered by the Biden administration is not a good choice as a supporter of the Second Amendment. Jane Anne, Shari and I attended the Arizona Well Armed Women State Conference last weekend in Tucson, offering a fun and very challenging stage. We look forward to again hosting their State Conference at Gunsite next April 2022. Jane Ann will also be attending their National Conference later this summer on the East Coast. You need to look for a chapter in your area!
June continues to be busy at the Gunsite Ranch. May 31 is the 270 Rifle, 350 Pistol, a Nashville 250 at the Royal Range. The first full week of June is 223 Carbine, Church Defense followed by an AZ CCW curse. Another double 250 and 556 Advanced Carbine and a Media Event with our partners with Mossberg, and Defensive Lever Gun. For our friends in Alaska, we are holding a class with Pistol/Shotgun June 23-25. June closes with an Active Shooter, 150 Pistol, and Seasoned Citizen Close Quarters Pistol.
Looking to July our Youth 250 Class immediately follows Independence Day, plus many more. The Youth 250 (350, 270) is a great summer camp for your young American. Just think of the “What I did on my summer vacation” essay they can write when they return to school.
