If you’ve ever wondered why Jeff and Janelle Cooper picked the land in Paulden to establish their American Pistol Institute, today known as Gunsite Academy the month of August makes it an obvious choice. The monsoon season in Northern Arizona this year produced beautiful green foliage, cool mornings and perfect afternoons. The antelope are hanging out at the S curve on Gunsite road , the jack rabbits are thick, and the road runners are everywhere. It has been great weather for training.
There are a few openings left in the Pocket Pistol class Sept. 27-28, and the 250 Pistol class beginning on September 30th, just before the GAS Match. Since you are here for GAS stay and take the 499 the week after the GAS Match
October has plenty of training opportunities during one of the best weather months of the year!
Battle Rifle is a must for those of you with 7.62/.308 battle rifles.. Bring your SCAR Heavy, FAL, AR10, Colt 901, M1, M1A, SOCOM or any other similar platform to this outstanding class. Taught by one of the best in the business, Walt Wilkinson has over 30 years experience in the Army Special Forces. No one knows these weapons better than he does.
Extreme Long Range Rifle with Cory Trap October 6-9 will teach you how to use your ballistic software to make hits at an amazing 2,000 yards or greater!
There are still a few slots left in the mid October 250 class and the Ladies Pistol Class taught by Il Ling New has openings as well. This is one of the best times of year in the high desert.
Rounding out the training opportunities in October are the 260 shotgun and the Shotgun Advanced Tactical Problems (SATP). These classes have been extremely popular all year long and each one has filled to capacity. Don’t miss out on the last chance of 2014 to train on one of the all time greatest defensive weapons!
Also in October is our last Gunsite Scout Rifle class for 2014 and it has 3 openings available.
If you missed out on the 350 the week before GAS you can still get into the 350 Pistol Oct. 27-31. This is the intermediate pistol offering challenging you with many simulators and force on force simunitions.
On September 11th this year say a prayer for our Country. Always remember.
