Retired Law Enforcement

I’m retired law enforcement, with active service over 34 years. I’ve always enjoyed shooting handguns during my career, but never committed to it beyond training to meet a standard required by my former agencies. 5 1/2 years into retirement, I was at home, sitting on the couch watching a war documentary and the host of the TV show mentioned a premiere shooting academy called ‘GUNSITE.’ I made a note to self, pulled up the website and signed up to attend the July 2023, ‘250 Defensive Pistol Course .’ The bottom line to this story…? BEST MONEY EVER SPENT FOR PERSONAL DEFENSE..!!! This course offers the best training experience available to responsible U.S. citizens who seek improved confidence and skills using a handgun. I now realize the difference between training to ‘meet a standard ‘ and training beyond, to meet higher personal goals. To our range staff: Range Master, Jay Tuttle and Instructors Bill, Chris and Adam . . . Thank you. Each one of them challenged me and my limited knowledge of handguns to improve skills and mindset each day. My teachers were helpful, patient, offered their expertise without hesitation and provided ‘spot on’ alternative solutions to fix a weapons manipulation issue when they observed my difficulties trying to master a required skill. Thank you Bill . . . your solution has become part of my daily regimen. Another bonus while taking this course are the new friends and classmates you meet during the week. I now consider them fellow Alumni, and part of a unique family.
